The administration of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration is actively establishing international cooperation in the region. With the support of th Head of Region, Ihor Taburets, a delegation from the Cherkasy region visited the state of Arizona, USA, from May 19 to 23, 2025. Among the participants was Volodymyr Mykolaiko, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Strategic Development of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University.
The purpose of the visit was to explore the experience of American partners in the field of higher education, establish connections with universities and organizations in Arizona, and discuss potential areas of future cooperation in academic mobility, innovation, and scientific research.
As part of the visit program, the delegation visited a number of leading institutions and organizations, including:
? Thunderbird School of Global Management and Arizona State University (ASU) – where participants were introduced to modern approaches in higher education management and explored opportunities for international cooperation in health, defense, aerospace, and environmental sciences.
? Grand Canyon University (GCU) – where the delegation learned about the ecosystem of student-led startups, innovation spaces, and community-based initiatives.
? Freeport and a meeting with representatives of the Arizona Governor’s Office – focused on discussing current models of public-private partnership and support for strategic projects.
? The University of Arizona in Tucson – where panel discussions were held with experts in mining, healthcare, and business entrepreneurship.
? Hermosa Mine Site – where the delegation gained insight into modern mining industry standards, including environmental and safety practices.
The participation of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University in this visit marked another important step toward strengthening the university’s international engagement, expanding academic opportunities, and developing new partnerships.
Overall, the visit laid the groundwork for mutually beneficial collaboration between the Cherkasy region and American institutions, opening new prospects for educational, innovative, and social initiatives.
