In November 2012 the innovative business incubator of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University and "Stara Uman" state historical and cultural reserve signed a cooperation agreement the purpose of which was to organize cooperation concerning the conservation of the national historical memory in independent Ukraine, conducting research, scientific and educational work. Both organizations are committed to the preparation and implementation of joint research issues, projects, courses, joint historical and cultural scientific, scientific and methodical, scientific and educational conferences, creating opportunities for internships and expanding the outlook of the students.

With signing of the cooperation agreement the students had the opportunity to take the professional guide courses for more than six months. During the training boys and girls learned many interesting facts about Uman, discovered many mysteries of the history of our country to use later at their work.

On the 9th of October the students were awarded certificates on completion of the guide courses in "Stara Uman" state historical and cultural reserve. Twenty students received the certificates from Petro Payevskyy, the Deputy Mayor. Attention of the local authorities to such insignificant events was caused by the fact that tourism in Uman demands more and more guides every year as the number of visitors is growing. The city officials are interested in expanding the tourist services, Uman is merely associated with the "Sofiyivskiy" Park and zaddik Nachman while our history is very rich and interesting. As Petro Payevskyy says, "... the city has much to show and to be proud of." One can expand tourism projects including the 200th anniversary of T.G. Shevchenko (Uman was the first city in Ukraine to name a street after the national genius) and the 60th anniversary of the Cherkasy Oblast.

Tetiana Komar, the Dean of the Economics Department of USPU, congratulated the students on completion of the courses and expressed the hope that the knowledge they had obtained would help them become true professionals and they would carry the pride of Uman, Cherkasy Oblast. She wished them a successful start of work.

The completion of the courses by the students became the first achievement in collaboration in the project between the innovative business incubator and "Stara Uman" state historical and cultural reserve. This is a bright example of how the university tries to enable the students to find things they like, earn their living, and maybe even find their favorite lifetime job.
