From June 9 to 13, 2025, academic staff members of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics - Mariia Medvedieva, Head of the Department of Informatics and ICT, and Professor Halyna Tkachuk – took part in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching programme at the Hipolit Cegielski State University of Applied Sciences in Gniezno (Republic of Poland).

The proposed mobility programme included the delivery of 8 hours of lectures in English in the field of web design, and 8 hours in the field of artificial intelligence. The web design module covered key aspects of modern web development, such as the fundamentals of web application technologies, an introduction to Front-End and Back-End development, and the historical evolution of web design. The artificial intelligence lectures focused on the fundamentals and practical application of AI in education, the use of AI-based digital tools, and the integration of AI into teaching and assessment processes. Special attention was given to ethical and practical aspects of AI implementation, such as data security, academic integrity, and media literacy.

During the academic visit, meetings were held with mgr Karol Geppert, Acting Director of the Institute of Security Sciences, and Karolina Karmelita, Erasmus+ Coordinator. The discussions covered the content of educational programmes and the training process of future professionals. Despite the different professional focuses of the partner institutions, the participants identified many commonalities in the training content of security professionals and future informatics teachers — especially in the context of related disciplines and the development of digital competencies.

An important stage of the visit was a meeting with the Rector of the University, Professor Paweł Chęciński, Habilitated Doctor of Medical Sciences, and the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Agnieszka Ulatowska, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Health Sciences.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss key issues in the field of academic mobility, the development of international partnerships, the improvement of educational programmes, and the exchange of best practices in the training of specialists.

The academic mobility programme was enriched by a sightseeing tour of the historic city of Gniezno and a visit to Gniezno Cathedral, located in the heart of the city — on Cathedral Hill.
