The "Environment and Education" laboratory scientists began the new academic year with an expedition on the route Uman - Ilintsy - Ladyzhyn, the Sob, the Soroka and the Southern Bug rivers. It was a state program. The “Yuvileiniy” camp in the village of Stepashky was selected as the location.

The expedition took place in four stages and the participants covered over 300 km. During the first stage of the expedition the members had an opportunity to thoroughly investigate the problems of energy conservation in individual schools. The expedition focused on the institutions where the conditions for the establishment and use of geothermal energy were found. Among these schools there was Illintsi Educational Complex (Director - S.I Kryzhanivsky).

The second stage has brought fruitful results during the research of antropogenesis of the valley landscapes near the small rivers of the mid Pobuzhya area.

During the third stage the coastal stripe was cleared of debris and waste left by tourists.

The fourth stage was the "round table" discussion on the energy saving problems and alternative energy sources with the principals of secondary schools on the basis of education department of the Illintsy district administration. One of the goals of the "round table" was information activities on vocational schools.
