The nationwide Olympic Week was a success at the Physical Training Department in USPU. The eventful week began with the meetings with the veterans of labor Oleksandr and Zhanna Vityuk who had worked at the Physical Training Department in the 60 's and who currently live abroad. During the meeting the guests shared their memories of work at the University (the teacher's college at that time), and talked about the goals and aspirations of the young people of those times.

Every day the University athletes took part in various sports activities. Those were:

- A mini-football match on the newly built playground of the University. Teams were formed of the students of all years of study of the Department. The winner was the "Obolon II" team - the second year students of the Physical Training Department.

- Friendly Volleyball match between the national teams of students and teachers of the Physical Training Department USPU. The meeting was interesting, each team was very determined to win. With the score of 3:2 the Physical Training Department team won.

- Opening Olympic ceremony by the first year athlete - students of USPU on the "Umanfermmash" stadium. The athletes winning the first places in two types of competitions (Shakleyin Aliona, Melnik Natalia, Kulikovskiy Roman, Ostapenko Maksym) have become famous. The 12th group from the Physical Training Department was the winner.

- Meeting of the students and teachers of the Physical Training Department, Masters of sports of Ukraine in rowing and boxing school Hulyayk Sergiy, Petrychenko Yaroslav, Smirnov Andriy with the pupuls of I-III Uman city school № 4, where they celebrated the "Olympic Day". Guests were telling the students how they had achieved good results in sports. Our athletes made a good impression of the meeting. They wished all pupils to exercise and live a healthy lifestyle.

- Closing ceremony of the "Small Olympic Games" in Uman Pedagogical Lyceum named after Yurii Haharin attended by the teachers of sports Maxim Vakarchuk and Liubov Koshova and Liubov Shachkovska – the Vice-Rector of USPU on special issues.

It is nice to note the increase of interest in sports and physical culture. The healthy people are successful people. Therefore, the phrase "Faster! Higher! Stronger! "is about our athletes known not only in Ukraine but also abroad - strong and courageous, persistent and inspired, willing to glorify our country.
