That was the first meeting of the newly elected student agency – the Student Council of the University. At the meeting of student leaders there were Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector, Professor, Dmytro Baldynyuk, the Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs, Associate Professor, Natalia Revnyuk, the Head of the Educational Work Department, Associate Professor, student deans of all departments and institutes, associate deans of educational work.

This year the student council includes 29 people - two representatives from schools, heads of hostels, representative of the student trade union and head of the student scientific society. The first meeting was organizational in nature. The Student Council elected the chairman and vice chairman. Student leaders who have some experience working in the student council eagerly supported the candidates and made ??their suggestions.

Oleksandr Patara, the student of the Nature and Geography Department was unanimously elected as a chairman. His deputy was Dariya Myehova, the student of Sociology and Psychology Department. There were no objections.

It is gratifying to note that the student council and the university administration have trusting partner relationships. After all, the democratic manner of handling the issues is a common way to solve many problems of youth much more efficiently. And for the students of our university the Rector is not only the head - it is the first person to consult a student if he/she wants real help. This is what Natalia S. Pobirchenko emphasized noting the mobile and creative work of the student government. She expressed the hope for a fruitful work of the newly elected student council.

The first working session also elected the heads of the sector councils, discussed the issues of concern for a year and completed a plan of the new projects that are soon going to surprise the students, and the schedule of meetings of the leaders of the student council of the University was made.
