Our university is a member of piloting of a new program on methods of teaching English, developed in the frameworks of a joint project of MES of Ukraine and the British Council in Ukraine "New Generation School Teacher". As part of its implementation the Assistant Professor of English Language and Methods of its Teaching Chair of Foreign Languages Department Olena Bevz won the scholarship to train in the University of Porto (Portugal).
The internship was eventful. Its program included familiarization of students and all concerned with the state of preparation of future teachers of English of educational degree "bachelor" in Ukraine. Modern Ukrainian school needs new generation teacher that is able to teach English, not as a school subject, but as the ability required to every citizen of our country in the 21st century.
Introduction to educational materials and demonstration of new approaches to teaching had been presented during training. Curator of internship from the University of Porto, Professor Nicolas Hurst praised the proposed educational materials and the program as a whole.
Good weather contributed to unforgettable impression of being in a beautiful Porto.
The acquired knowledge and experience during the internships will enrich the existed techniques and expand the methods of teaching and learning of foreign languages in our universities. Knowledge of a foreign language is the key to successful future career of students.
