An important event for philatelists in the modern history of Uman took place on the day of the city in “Stara Uman” State Historical and Architectural Reserve – the grand redemption of the stamp "City of Uman. 350 Years of Magdeburg law ." The author of the stamp was Gennadiy Kleschar, the senior lecturer of Fine Arts at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. The postage stamp is a continuation of a series that is dedicated to establishing the anniversary dates of Magdeburg law in different cities of Ukraine initiated by the author in 2003.

Victor Palamarchuck, the Head of the post office number 8 read the order of "Ukrpochta" Ukrainian state enterprise mail service on the introduction of the postage stamp dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Magdeburg Law in Uman on October 5 this year throughout Ukraine.

The formal procedure was held with the participation of the Mayor Yury Bodrov who stressed the importance of the event not only for Uman but also for Ukraine on its way to joining the European Union.

Gennady Kleschar, the author of the famous stamp is the known artist who works in Uman State Pedagogical University since 2004. He is a highly professional, demanding teacher who seamlessly combines competence and integrity of the individual approach to creative development of student's personality.

Paying tribute to K.G. Mikindo, the first teacher, the teacher and artist known in Uman, Gennady Kleschar organized and participated in the first and second exhibition of works of former students of the master (Uman, 2003, 2008), he was the founder of the Uman plaque dedicated to his memory. "K. G. Mikindo his studio " , the scientific project of Alla Kravchenko, the student of USPU, was awarded a Diploma at the V nationwide competition of scientific works among university students (Kyiv, 2009) the head of which was Gennady Kleschar.

Over forty years G. Kleschar has been an active participant in art exhibitions organized by the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture, the organizing committee of international and national exhibitions. He is the author of 8 personal exhibitions in the genres of book design, graphic design and painting. Approximately 50 works of the master are owned by galleries, museums and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, USA, Italy, Czech Republic, Israel, Georgia, Estonia, Switzerland, Malta.

A number of publications devoted to art published in journals "Kyiv", "Dnepr", "Ukraine", "Correspondent" (1990 - 2003) was dedicated to the aesthetic and ethical aspects of the creative works of the artist Gennady Kleschar, his works were included in the catalogs of prestigious exhibitions.
