USPU has a strong choreographic base. Famous dance teams of the city and the region are headed by the university graduates. Popular dance festivals are held in the university. For example, this year's festival "The April Fairy Play" was attended by a thousand of participants from all over Ukraine.

Resently an international scientific and practical seminar "The Intersection of Two Cultures: Ukraine - Georgia" was held at Choreography and Artistic Culture Chair of the Arts Department of the University with the participation of students and lecturers, and teachers of choreography.

The aim of the seminar was to exchange professional experience and to identify trends of improvement and development of choreographic education; establishing international relations and cooperation between choreographers Ukraine and Georgia.

The head of Ukrainian choreographic society of Bukovyna Tetiana Horoshevska, acting Dean of Arts Department, Ph.D., Associate Professor Inna Tereshko and Head of Choreography and Artistic Culture Chair, Ph.D., Associate Professor Lyudmyla Androshchuk greeted the participants.

The continuation of the seminar's work was the dance class "Dialogue of dance cultures" in the performance of the national amateur folk dance company "Yavoryna" (director - Sergiy Kutsenko) and dance company "Kolha" from the Georgian city Khobi (director - Kakha Chytaia). Both groups demonstrated a dance flavor of its people, presented the best choreographic traditions of Ukraine and Georgia.

Deputy head of the People Center of Georgian Choreography, head of the dance company "Kolha" Kakha Chytaia conducted a workshop "Georgian Dance Technique: History, Theory, Practice". The basis of the master class was the studying of dance choreographic vocabulary of mountain Georgian dances, in particular, "Mtiuluri" and "Hevsuluri" - dances that best convey the spirit of Georgia. They absorbed the love, courage, respect for women, invincibility, skill, beauty and unique flavor.

The logical conclusion of the seminar's work was the creative dialogue with students during visiting the best places of historical Uman aand the festive events dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the first written mention of the city.

For active participation in the seminar's organization Choreography and Artistic Culture Chair expresses special gratitude to an artistic director of dance groups "Step Up" and "Druzhky-podrizhky", the director of choreography festival "Global-Dance" (Uman), the university graduate student Victoria Hlobchak.
